Family Living 621: Dating Handbook Assignment

—  Create a personal “Dating Handbook” which includes relevant tips and advice for today’s teenager.

—  Your handbook will consist of a compilation of at least one relevant article per topic.

—  You must also include a write-up with each article with the following information: thesis, summary, personal opinion (one page minimum, single spaced).

—  Your handbook should have an attractive cover and be easy to read/navigate (please use dividers and label sections accordingly)

You should have information on the following topics:

—  Characteristics of strong relationships

—  Importance of intimacy

—  Conflict resolution

—  Effective communication

—  Sexuality (what to consider before engaging in sexual activity, etc)

—  Infatuation vs. real love

—  Handling cheating

—  Handling breakups

—  Importance of self-love (ways to promote self-love)

Your handbook should also include a minimum of nine (9) powerful/inspiring/motivational quotes that relate to each section.

You will be graded on the following criteria:

ü  Presentation (table of contents, neatness, creativity, images, organization)                                                                                                                                /5
